Topic: A Compass is not just an accessory but a requirement for your SUV
Previous TopicNext TopicHelp
Many sports utility vehicles have a compass built into the rear-view mirror or into the overhead console (see picture of rear-view mirror in upper photograph). If your SUV has this option, you will always have this important navigation instrument with you when you are driving off the road.

Be sure to adjust your built in compass for the area where you do most of your driving. Instructions for adjusting the built in compass can be usually be found in your owners manual.

If you SUV does not have a built in compass, then buy one and keep it in the vehicle at all times. You can buy units that mount on the dash or you can buy a hand held compass and store it in the glove compartment. We like the hand held option because you can take it with you when you hike away from your SUV.
