Checking Brakes Checking the brakes on your SUV can really be quite easy if you do it the next time you have your tires rotated. Ask the mechanic doing the work if you can inspect the brakes yourself when he has the wheels off the car. We'll show you here what to look for.

Let's start with a list of the parts you will see when the front tire is removed (bottom photograph).
  1. Disk
  2. Brake Caliper
  3. Brake Pad
  4. Wheel Bearing
  5. Front Axle
Press the "2" button above and we'll look closely at what you should examine in this brake assembly.
