Topic: Hauling Stuff on the Back of Your Sport Utility Vehicle
Previous TopicNext TopicHelp
A host of lightweight things can be carried on the rear of your Sport Utility Vehicle with the new receiver hitch attachments available today. Some of these receiver hitch attachments swing away so that you can open the rear door of your SUV. We have seen receiver hitch attachments made to carry bicycles, skis, snow boards, cargo carriers, and tool boxes.

If you are going to do much rigorous off road travel, you may want to consider roof mounted systems. Anything attached to the back of your SUV may hang down low enough in the rear to drag on the ground in dips in the trail. Be sure to buy a hitch mounted unit that gives you plenty of ground clearance of you are going off the road.
