There are two different weight issues to be aware of when it comes to determining how much to load in, or on top of, your Sport Utility Vehicle or 4 wheel drive pick up truck.

The first issue is the load rating for your particular make and model of vehicle. This specification indicates how much total weight your vehicle can carry.

The second issue is the load rating for the particular make and model of rack you are mounting on top of, or on the back of, your vehicle.
